NDO/VNA – As many as 50 Vietnamese travel companies are showcasing their products and services at the 49th International Tourism Fair (ITB) which opened on March 3 at the Messe Berlin exhibition centre in Berlin, Germany.
The world largest annual tourism fair will include information booths set up by as many as 10,000 travel companies, hotels, tourism groups and restaurants from 186 countries and territories, and will run until March 8.
General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Nguyen Van Tuan highlighted the goal of the tourism sector to portray Vietnam as a beautiful, friendly and safe country through tourism presentations at the fair.
Visiting Vietnam’s booth, Parliamentarian Jurgen Klimke noted 2015 will mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries, and expressed his hope that bilateral relations will be enhanced.
In return, Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh discussed expectations in tourism collaboration growth between Vietnam and Germany at different levels including the State, businesses, and the public.
About 125,000 Vietnamese nationals currently live in Germany, and over 100,000 Vietnamese can speak German.
