NDO – The second Hanoi Old Book Festival 2015 is taking place at No.176 Thai Ha Street, Hanoi March 14-15, attracting thousands of book lovers.

The event, organised by Alpha Books Company, aims to create a cultural space, bringing old book lovers and secondhand booksellers closer.

This year’s festival sees the participation of over 10 organisations and individuals exchanging old books.

Several famous book stores, including the East-West Library and the Old Book Store Thuan Hoa from Hue, also took part in the festival for the first time.

The event offers book lovers the opportunity to enjoy book exhibitions, exchange their old books for new ones, to take part in a seminar on book with Lawyers Ta Thu Phong, poets Nguyen Dinh Chinh and Tran Ninh Ho.

Nguyen Minh Tuan is Business Director of Alphabooks, the festival organiser: “This year’s festival is larger than last year. And we’ll organise more similar festivals in the future. The first festival was well received by readers. Through such events, we want to promote book culture and introduce to readers to precious books that can’t be found in bookstores elsewhere.”

The organising board will donate 500 books to libraries in disadvantaged areas.
