Japanese Government provides non-refundable aid for 12 projects

The deteriorated classrooms at Ly Thuong Kiet primary school in Hung Yen province will be replaced by a two-storey building


NDO – The Japanese Government will provide over US$1.1 million for Vietnam to carry out 12 projects in localities in the north and central region of Vietnam.


Agreements to this effect were signed between Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Hiroshi Fukada and representatives of 12 localities receiving the aid in Hanoi on March 20.


Ambassador Fukada said at the signing ceremony that he hoped through these projects, the Japan-Vietnam relationship would be promoted and developed further.


The 12 projects include the construction of a new two-storey building with six classrooms for Hong Chau primary school in Yen Lac district, Vinh Phuc province with a total fund of US$101,357.


They also comprise the expansion of a health station in Dong Lac commune, Yen Lap district, Phu Tho province; the construction of a new building for Dao Duc primary school in Binh Xuyen district, Vinh Phuc province; and the expansion of a health station in Tan Ky commune, Tu Ky district, Hai Duong province.


The Japanese Government will also provide funding for the construction of a new building for Ly Thuong Kiet primary school in Yen My district, Hung Yen province and the building of a dormitory for Phu Son secondary school in Chiem Hoa district, Tuyen Quang province, while also improving sanitary conditions for two schools in Ninh Binh province.


Providing equipment for Thuy An Rehabilitation Centre for children with disabilities in Ba Vi, an outskirt district of Hanoi, and providing equipment for the Rehabilitation Hospital in Bac Ninh province are also included in the 12 projects.


The remaining projects provide equipment for the Phu Dong Healthcare Centre for Elderly in Gia Lam district, Hanoi; providing equipment for the Paediatrics Department of Quang Tri General Hospital and improving access to clean water and sanitation at schools in Minh Hoa district, Quang Binh province.
