The central province of Thua Thien-Hue is expected to receive about 75,000 visitors in ten days of the Tet festival from February 15 -24, an increase of 25 percent over the same period last year, said deputy director of the province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Cao Chi Hai.
Of the total, international tourists will approximate 40,000, and tourist revenue in this period will reach VND50 billion (US$2.35 million), he said.
Since February 17, the 29th day of the 12th lunar month, Hue ancient capital has been decorated with red parallel sentences, lanterns and colorful flowers.
A lot of international visitors have come to not only visit the ancient capital–the UNESCO recognized world cultural heritage site, but also discover native culture and custom via Tet celebrations of local people.
The most visited places have been Hue Royal Palace, royal tombs and Thien Mu Pagoda. Hue city authorities are preparing to let off high range fireworks on the New Year’s Eve in 15 minutes.

Besides, the province will organize many culture and art performances in nine districts and Hue city such as spring flower festival, boat race and rural markets.
