VGP – The introduction of a resolution on achieving a 6.2% growth rate and an array of measures to curb commodity prices during the Tet holiday and reingorce the fight against smuggling and trade frauds was viewed one among prominent activities taken by the Government and PM Nguyen Tan Dung in the week from February 2-6.
Government resolves to achieve 6.2% GDP growth rate
In the resolution of the Government’s January regular meeting, ministries, agencies and localities are requested to achieve a 6.2% gross domestic product growth in 2015 and make preparations to ensure a cosy, safe and economical Tet holiday.
Lowering bad debts below 3%
Responding to National Assembly deputy Dang Dinh Luyen’s question on bad debt settlement, PM Dung said that the Government would address more drastically bad debts and restructure credit institutions in order to bring the rate of bad debts down to 3% by the end of 2015.
Favorable, transparent business environment for people
Answering a question by NA deputy Do Thi Thu Hang from Dong Nai province, PM Dung stressed that the Government would better the business environment and economic competitiveness; focus on improving the market economy; foster international integration; review, amend and supplement legal documents and policies to ease difficulties and create a favorable, equal and transparent business environment for businesses and people.
Active international integration in culture
PM Dung has approved the country’s strategy on cultural external relations to 2020 with a vision to 2030.
Accordingly, the external cultural activities will be diversified to introduce the Vietnamese culture to the world, develop the culture, build a national cultural symbol and several national cultural products’ brand names.
Students’ sports supported
The Government issued a resolution on physical training and sports activities at educational institutions. Organizations and individuals who invest in facilities serving physical training and sports activities in educational institutions are prioritized in taxes, capital and land use and their legitimate interests are ensured by current legal regulations.
Fight against smuggling, trade fraud enhanced
Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc issued a note on enhancing the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeits, which often occur during the Tet holiday.
Relevant ministries, agencies and localities were asked to enhance patrolling, examining and controlling border gates, border lines and wholesale markets to detect and strictly punish violations.
Measures to address crimes intensified
Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked public security agencies, procuracies and courts to work closely together in examining and trialling to ensure legal strictness, avoid wrong judgements, promptly try big cases to enhance preventive education and resolutely fight crimes.
