Golden Ball Award 2014 nomination: No places for U19 Related image(s)

(CPV) – Saigon Giai Phong newspaper, hosting agency of the annual Vietnamese Golden Ball Awards since 1995, has been announced the nominations for both male and female players for the Awards 2014. This year, the 10-name list for men saw no players in the U19 national team, which used to create a “phenomenon” for millions of fans during their play. However, experts said that the decision was acceptable given the players had only competed in youth tournaments. The ten nominees are Le Cong Vinh, Nguyen Anh Duc, Nguyen Trong Hong (from B.Binh Duong club), Nguyen Van Quyet, Pham Thanh Luong, Hoang Vu Samson (from Hanoi T&T club), Vu Minh Tuan, Mac Hong Quan (from Coal Quang Ninh club), Ngo Hoang Thinh (from Song Lam Nghe An club), and Nguyen Hai Anh (from Dong Nai club). All impressed with their performances in the national championships and AFF Suzuki Cup 2014. Meanwhile, Cong Phuong, Tuan Anh and Xuan Truong have just been listed in the best young athlete’s category. Among the female players, the three most outstanding footballers among the nominees are Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung and Bui Thi Nhu of Ha Nam province, and HCM city’s Dang Thi Kieu Trinh.
