Foreign tourists to Vietnam rise 6.6% in first month of 2015 Related image(s)
(CPV) – Foreign tourist arrivals to Vietnam in January 2015 reached over 700,000, a 6.6% rise against December 2014, but a 9.7 decrease over a year earlier, according to the General Statistics Office. Specifically, the arrivals visiting the countryby air were estimated at nearly 562,000, making up 80.2% of the total, while those by sea and road posted almost 6,900 (0.98%) and over 131,000 (18.82%). In comparison with January 2014, Vietnam’s top five tourist markets in this month were the Republic of Korea (41.5%), Spain (30.6%), Finland (21.8%), Singapore (16.4%) and Italy (12.7%). The remaining markets saw reduction in tourist arrivals to Vietnam, including Hong Kong – China (34.1%), Russia (28.7%), China (24.7%), Thailand (21%) and the Philippines (19.5%). In 2015, the domestic tourism sector strives to greet about 8.5 million foreign arrivals and serve 41 million domestic tourists, grossing a revenue of VND270 trillion./. |
