Vietnamese police have broken up a ring that forged certificates in the southern province of Binh Duong, arresting four people and seizing thousands of fake seals and other tools for forging them.

Hong Van, 40, Le Ba Tong, 45, Ma Thanh Van, 37, and Vu Duc Hai, 40, have been detained on charges of “forging seals and/or documents of agencies and/or organizations” pursuant to Article 267 of the Penal Code, the police of the province’s Di An town said.
These people committed the offense at a house they rented in the town.
They provided their customers with fake graduation certificates from universities, colleges and vocational schools; certificates of languages and information technology; driver’s licenses; and many other kinds of papers.
The ring sold those fake papers at a price ranging from VND200,000 (US$9.37) to VND1 million ($46.85) per item.
Police have confiscated 5,800 fake seals of various agencies, a great deal of forged papers and a lot of equipment and tools for use in counterfeiting.
Police are expanding their investigation to track down others involved in the ring as well as those who had bought the ring’s fake papers.
The board of directors of the provincial Police Department has given a cash reward of VND30 million ($1,405) to police officers who took part in the bust.
