Deputy Spokesperson of the Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pham Thu Hang announced today that Vietnam urged Malaysian authorities to strictly punish those who raped a Vietnamese female student in Malaysia.
According to the victim, she was raped by three men while she and her friend were on the way going home.
It has been alleged that one of the three culprits was a local policeman.
“Vietnam strongly condemns acts that infringe the safety of Vietnamese citizens.
“Vietnam asks Malaysian authorities to work out measures to protect the legal rights and benefits of Vietnamese people in Malaysia.
“Malaysia should carry out an investigation to strictly punish violators,” the deputy spokesperson announced today.
Malaysian authorities said on October 29 that they arrested three suspects and would launch investigation into the case, according to Vietnamese embassy in Malaysia.
The victim who was taken to hospital has been working with local police for investigation.
