THUA THIEN-HUE (VNS) – More than 200 representatives from travel agents and hotels in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue have completed a two-day course on serving Japanese tourists.


The course, organised by Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and Japan Assfociation of Travel Agents (JATA), aims to cater to more Japanese, who are already biggest group of visitors.


JATA provided information about the Japanese tourism market and recommendations on how to build a tourism trademark for the region.



VNAT officials outlined ways to attract more Japanese to Viet Nam.


According to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the number of foreign tourists will increase towards the end of the year.


The province will also carry out marketing and promotion activities targeting other markets such as Britain, Thailand and Cambodia .


In the first 10 months of this year, Thua Thien-Hue welcomed 2.39 million visitors, of them, 852,275 were foreigners, up 8.6 per cent compared to the same period last year. – VNS
