Hanoi, November 7 (VNA) – The Prime Minister has urged ministries, ministerial-level agencies and localities to enhance the quality of human resources training for Laos as an important political gesture to foster the traditional solidarity, special friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

In Directive No. 33/CT-TTg, dated November 5, the Prime Minister requests the Ministry of Education and Training to work with the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports to improve the quality of the selection process and Vietnamese language courses for Lao students before coming to study in Vietnam, as well as developing a roadmap on the teaching of Vietnamese as a foreign language in the Lao education system.

Additionally, the Ministry of Education and Training is instructed to compile textbooks for the teaching of Vietnamese to Lao students in Vietnam.

The Prime Minister assigns the Ministry of Planning and Investment, together with the Ministry of Education and Training, to develop long-term and short-term resource allocation plans for cooperating with Laos on education and training.

The provinces and cities developed long-term and short-term partnership plans with their twinned Lao localities on human resources training to meet the needs of Laos’ socio-economic development.

The directive was issued with the goal of aiding the effective implementation of the project on “Improving the quality and efficiency of bilateral cooperation between Vietnam-Laos on education and human resources development for 2011-2020″.
