(MPI Portal) – On November 2014, Ministry of Planning and Investment in collaboration with World Bank (WB) held Performance review meeting of Vietnam Development Partnership Forum (VDPF) 2013. Attending the Meeting, there were Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung, Deputy Minister of MPI; Ms. Victoria Kwakwa, WB’s Country Director for Vietnam; representative of the related ministries, agencies, international organizations, embassies, development partners of Vietnam and press media agencies. Photo: Duc Trung (MPI Portal) Speaking at the Meeting opening, Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung, Deputy Minister of MPI said that this is an occasion to review and assess VDPF 2013 together, focusing on 4 topics: Poverty reduction and poverty reduction for the ethnic minority; enhance opportunities to access services and promoting private sector participation in rural water supply and sanitation; vocational training and capacity building; environment management. Appreciating the effort and serious deployment of the related parties, the Deputy Minister said that synchronous implementation of the recommendations will bring concrete results, meeting and resolving the priority issues VDPF 2013 set out. Playing role as an agency of synthesis and overall coordination of VDPF 2013’s activities, the MPI will collect, report to the Government and propose the next activities in the coming time. Photo: Duc Trung (MPI Portal) Appreciating the dialogue form of VDPF, Ms. Victoria Kwakwa, WB’s Country Director for Vietnam said that transfer from the Consultative Group (CG) with the main task of mobilizing ODA to Vietnam Development Partnership Forum (VDPF) from 2013 with the vision of supporting policy dialogue on sectors which all parties are interested in, to promote socio – economic development and improve people’s life is a right decision in the present context. VDPF is a form of high level policy dialogue between Vietnam Government and donor community on the issues which are paid attention by the Government, people and donors. She hoped that this review Meeting would bring the practical lessons to improve the efficiency of VDPF and achieve the results set out. Photo: Duc Trung (MPI Portal) Representative of the MPI, VDPF coordination agency, Mr. Le Quang Manh, Director General of Foreign Economic Relations Department reported general performance of VDPF 2013 with the positive results of 4 topics. He appreciated the efforts and serious deployment of activity lead agencies and the close coordination of development partners. He also gave some recommendations on how to deploy the necessary improvements to enhance work coordination between the related parties or focus on deploy well some key practical activities to provide the highest efficiency for the program. The delegates of Meeting was also listened to the detailed reports on 4 topics by representatives of Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Committee on Ethnic Minority Affairs. Therefore, the delegates and development partners also raised some comments to the content of the implementation process in order to improve the reports and learn some experiences for the direction and deployment of the next VDPF./.
