HCMC plans nearly VND16 trillion for Tet goods

Businesses in Ho Chi Minh City are expected to spend a total of VND15,849 billion (US$745.38 million) on production and preparation of goods for the coming Tet or Lunar New Year Holiday which will fall in next February.

According to a plan which the HCMC Department of Industry and Trade has fulfilled and submitted to the city People’s Committee for approval, the preparation will start at the 12th lunar month this year and last till the 1st lunar month next year.



If the plan is approved, the total capital will increase 109 percent over the same period last year, when VND7,581 billion was spent.


The total goods value from the price subsidization program will reach VND8,304 billion, up 69.4 percent over a year ago.


At this time, businesses attending in the program have almost completed their plans to supply goods for the next Tet Holiday.


According to the Industry and Trade Department, goods for the Tet Holiday will be abundant with various types, good quality and suitable prices.
