– According to the representative of Transaero Airlines in Vietnam, the company has launched the direct air route from Domodedovo International Airport in Moscow to Cam Ranh in central Vietnam’s Khanh Hoa Province and the other way around starting Saturday, November 1, with 10 flights per day.
– The Aviation Department announced that Vietnamese aviation authorities and leaders of Vietnamese, Laotian and Cambodian enterprises have reached a consensus in launching a north-south “golden air route” which crosses the air space of Laos and Cambodia. The new air route is slated to kick off starting June 2015.
– Vingroup Corporation launched on Saturday its Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort Complex on Phu Quoc island in southern Kien Giang Province. – Hundreds of people thronged and jostled chaotically against one another for several hours on end just to hunt discounted brand items at Pullman Hotel in Hanoi on Saturday, the first day of the two-day brand item sales in the capital.
– Customs officers at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport on Saturday afternoon seized three passengers who had seven kilograms of rhino horns on them on a flight from Bangkok.
– According to AFP, South African police on Saturday announced the seizure of two Vietnamese men who were illegally carrying 18 rhino horns weighing a total of 41 kilograms at Johannesburg Airport.

– The People’s Committee of central Vietnam’s Binh Dinh Province announced on Saturday that they have given their nod to the establishment of the Advanced Applied Mathematics Institute, which will be headed by Professor Ngo Bao Chau, the expat Vietnamese winner of the Fields Medal- the world’s top mathematics prize. The new institute is part of the provincial “Science Space” Complex based in the province’s Quy Nhon City.
