55 projects and 91 billion VND

​From January to now, Quang Ngai province has received 55 programs and projects funded by 26 foreign Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and 02 individuals with the total donated value of nearly VND 91 billion, increasing 30% as compared to the last year.



NGOs projects mainly focused on socio-economic development, clean water and environment sanitation, vocational training, micro credit services, welfare for disabled people, healthcare, natural disaster prevention, climate change adaptation and other fields.


The majority of the aforesaid funding has been allocated to disadvantaged areas, mountainous districts such as Minh Long, Tra Bong, Son Ha, Ba To, Ly Son and especially in vulnerable areas caused by natural disasters.


As evaluated, many large-scale projects have created positive results for not only beneficiaries in the project areas but also staff in improving their management capacity and responsibility with community such as socio-economic development projects (Plan International), area development programs (World Vision), offering scholarships (East Meets West Foundation), Centre for natural disaster prevention and control (U.S. Pacific Command) as well as projects of supporting nine primary schools andmanagementof Son Tinh general hospital (KOICA), etc.


Besides, through implementing the programs of free examination, surgery for the poor and building compassion houses, ReSurge International, Madison Quarker Inc, VVOB, D.O.V.E. Fund, Putney Student Travel, Changing Children’s Lives, Giving it back to Kids, etc have significantly contributed to improving the quality of the poor across the province.

As recorded, in the period of 2010 – 2014, Quang Ngai has so far received 206 programs and projects funded by over 30 NGOs and foreign individuals with the total aid at about VND 319 billion.


As affirmed by Madam Dinh Thi Loan, Vice Chairman of the PPC, Quang Ngai government and its people always create best conditions for international aid agencies and individuals in the humanitarian projects’ implementation as well as use the support funds in right purposes.


In 2015, Quang Ngai provincial authority will continue to direct localities and related units in the province to mobilize aids from NGOs with the average set-out grant value of 75 billion VND.
