The Vietnam’s Olympic football team on Wednesday defeated their Bangladeshi counterpart in a recent friendly game held in preparation for 2014 Incheon Asian Games (Asiad) in South Korea.
The match was held to help Toshiya Miura, coach of the Vietnamese team, test his squad and strategies for the last time before entering the men’s football competition of the 2014 Incheon Asiad which will kick off on September 15.
Accordingly, the Vietnam’s Olympic football team, going into the game with a 4-4-2 formation, earned the first score with the goal of striker Mac Hong Quan in the 12th minute.
The second goal came 12 minutes later with a penalty kick of midfielder Hoang Thinh after a Bangladeshi defender committed a foul with striker Huu Khoi in the penalty area.
In the second half of the game, coach Miura changed the entire formation to continue to test the performance of the remaining players.
The Vietnam’s Olympic football team continued to score the next goal in the 55th minute by Hoang Thinh. However, after about 20 minute playing with less concentration, the Vietnamese team let their Bangladeshi rivals scored two consecutive goals in the 62nd and 75th minute.
However, two minutes before the game ended, Huynh Van Thanh scored the last goal for Vietnam after receiving a pass from Phi Son.
At Incheon Asian Games 2014, the Vietnam’s Olympic football, categorized in Group H, will meet Iran (September 15) and Kyrgyzstan (September 22) to compete for one out of two tickets for entering the second round.
