A concert themed “Youth Melody Program in September” will take place at Ho Chi Minh City Opera House on September 29.
The show will be performed by violinist Nguyen Huu Nguyen and artists of the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) under the baton of conductor Tran Vuong Thach.
The first part of the programme will be a performance of Nocturne ‘Tieng Vong‘ (Echo from the past) – a contemporary composition written by the President of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association, musician Do Hong Quan.
In the second part, violinist Nguyen Huu Nguyen together with the HBSO symphony orchestra will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.
The concert is held to prepare for the attendance of the 13th Asia Orchestra Week in Tokyo, Japan on October 3-9.
This is the second time the orchestra has been invited to the international event in Japan since its first in 2008.
Launched in Japan in 2002, the Asia Orchestra Week is a festival for professional orchestras in Asia, intended to create opportunities for their exchanges and for them to display their artistic skills.
