HA NOI (VNS) – Vietnamese player Nguyen Tien Minh yesterday defeated Pablo Abian of Spain 21-7, 19-21, 21-10 to enter the third round of the Badminton World Federation’s World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark.

It was Minh’s third won over Abian in their three meetings so far.

Minh will next play No 14 seed Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in the men’s singles match this evening.

Vietnamese player Vu Thi Trang will also play her third-round match today with Shixian Wang of China, who is a strong player and the No 2 seed in the women’s singles category. – VNS
