A five-day program showcasing works by a famed Vietnamese poet and playwright to commemorate the 26th anniversary of his death is set to kick off next week in the capital city of Hanoi.

“Nho Anh” (Missing You), an event featuring the plays of Luu Quang Vu, the brilliant Vietnamese poet and playwright who is known widely for the depth and topicality of his scripts, will be held from August 20 to September 1 at the Hanoi’s Friendship Cultural Palace.



The show aims at commemorating the 26th anniversary of Vu’s passing, who died in an accident with his wife and their 12-year-old son Luu Quynh Tho on August 29, 1988, leaving fans mourning for the loss.


Among the plays featured at the shows will be Hon Truong Ba Da Hang Thit (Truong Ba’s Soul, Butcher’s Body), Benh Si (Egotism), Loi The Thu 9 (The Ninth Oath), Nang Sita (Lady Sita) and Mua Ha Cuoi Cung (The Last Summer).


Nho Anh” is jointly organized by the Vietnam National Drama Theater, Tuoi Tre (Youth) Theatre and Hanoi Cheo Theater and Dong Do Art and Culture Introduction Joint Stock Company.
