| Quang Ninh's U17 girls' basketball team beat 10 rival high school teams to top the qualifying round of the North U17 tour, entering the final round of the Cool Air Cup. The qualification rounds were held from July 3-8 in Hanoi, attracting 46 boys and girls teams at secondary and high school levels. This was the 5th tour jointly organized by the Young Pioneer newspaper and Vietnam Basketball Federation with the aim of spotting talents for senior and national squads. The northern province sent its best players from the provincial sports and physical training school to the event. In the final match, Quang Ninh defeated their rivals from Yen Bai province 26/15. With this victory, Quang Ninh has earned aplace in the final round of the U17 national basketball tour along with five other teams from the North and the South (Yen Bai, Cao Bang, Hanoi-Amsterdam, Can Tho and Soc Trang). The final round takes place in Hanoi from July 11-17./. |
