Mekong delta farmers make more profits by crop rotation

The forum was held in Hanoi on July 1 with the participation of representatives from the ministries of Planning and Investment; Agriculture and Rural Development.


Currently, farmers have been guided to rotate soil-depleting crops like rice with soil-enriching crops like corn. It has helped 8,800 farmers in the Mekong Delta earn over US$1 million incremental income and saved 80 per cent of time, cost and labor from 2,200 ha and 4,400 ha rice-to-corn rotation in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
