A first-ever national wildlife park will be constructed in central Vietnam and be completed in a decade, according to information released last week by local authorities.
The VND7.3 trillion (US$344 million) park, which will help protect the region’s wildlife and preserve rare animals, will be located in Ninh Binh Province’s Phu Long and Ky Phu villages in Nho Quan District, covering a total area of 1,155 hectares.
It will comprise six areas for wildlife, entertainment, services, a section for research and development, and sites for relocated residents and staff housing.
The park is designed to accommodate around 3,000 wild animals of 250 species and welcome about five million visitors while providing jobs for nearly 2,500 local residents once it is put into operation in 2025.
The wildlife zone will have three themes, including landscapes that reflect African deserts, South American jungles and tropical forests in Asia. The design will also take into account the mountainous scenes of Ninh Binh.
The park aims to turn the central province into a well-known wildlife conservation center not only in Vietnam but also in Asia by preserving animals’ rare genes and serving scientific research.
Initial steps of the project including site clearance and constructing several parts of the park are expected to be completed by 2015.
