SCG showcases new products at Architect Fair 2014

Thailand’ top industrial developer SCG is showcasing its universal design concept and four design trends for the future at the Architect Fair 2014.

At the April 29-May 5 fair in Bangkok, SCG showcases its latest trend and design concept of building materials that inspires creativity. It introduces the Universal Design concept and four design trends for future homes and building materials. SCG also showcases The NEST which is the future sustainable home and the first Energy Plus House in ASEAN, and SCG Eldercare Solution providing solution for the elderly.

“SCG’s exhibition at the fair this year is developed under the Universal Design concept which SCG ultilises as key concept to develop its products and services. The concept is a design for every one, answering to the different needs, especially for children, pregnancy and elders. Apart from developing products and services in line with the Universal Design concept, SCG has also explored its own analysis on the people, society, ways of life, global design trends and will reveal the four design trends for homes and building materials at the fair,” said Anuvat Chalermchai, brand director of SCG Cement-Building Materials, one of SCG’s core businesses.

The four design trends include Urbaneast, Lullaby, Experiment and ReVALs with different signatures. Urbaneast brings out privileges of urbanites that combine the oriental philosophy and Lullaby serenades every beat of life with simple and friendly design, while Experience combines scientific thoughts in a smart approach and ReVALs setsa new definition of design for the new generation of people full of inspiration, creativity and social responsibility.

“Solutions for the future are particularly highlighted at the fair,” Chalermchai said.

The solutions embrace SCG Eldercare Solution, a good example reflecting the development of Universal Design concept. To prepare for the growing elderly society, SCG is committed to creating residences and other basic infrastructure that will improve the quality for the elderly, supporting their independent life, self-sustainability and most importantly – safety.

The NEST, a sustainable home for the future, is also another SCG highlight. It is the first energy plus house in ASEAN producing more energy than consumption. It is the ideal for future’s sustainable home for living in the tropics combined with smart, eco and care technology to adapt to the living trend of the changing world. Technology balance is applied to fully ulitise the home’s energy performance to achieve the mission of the first energy plus house in ASEAN.

At the fair, SCG also showcases its latest design of products and services that can meet all living needs and lifestyles. Examples include SCG concrete roof tile and fibre-cement board, COTTO bathroom products, COTTO Italia ceramics, SCG HEIM, Winsor shading system and vinyl, and other creative inspirations for home building and living at SCG Experience.

“SCG has pursued our vision to become a sustainable business leader in ASEAN. We do believe that along with the continual development for products and services within the trend and design concept projection, we will continue to delivery quality of products and services that best serve every needs of customers in ASEAN,” Chalermchai said.

The fair is the exhibition organized by the Association of Siamese Architects under the Patronage of His Majesty the King. It is aimed to create opportunities for developers, designers, consultants, engineers and contractors to meet up with worldwide manufacturers and distributors in the building industry.

Some 600 exhibitors can be seen at this event.
