Pork prices rise in south on lower supply

Pork prices have risen by VND5,000 per kilogram to VND55,000 since April, with distributors blaming it on falling supply from farms, which have cut back on breeding pigs since last year.

Besides, supply from the north has decreased because of the high transport costs.

In the northern region, prices are around VND10,000 lower than in the south as supply exceeds demand.
