(Cinet)- Performance of Oratorio “The Creation” by Austrian composer Joseph Haydn will kick off at the HCMC Opera House on May 08-09.
Haydn’s oratorio “The Creation” is considered by many to be his masterpiece. It tells the story of God’s creation of the world in 6 days according to the Book of Genesis of the Old Testament. The work is structured in 3 parts and scored for soprano, tenor and bass soloists, chorus, and a symphonic orchestra. For the recitatives, the harpsichord will be used. At these performances, our conductor, Maestro Lars Notto Birkeland, will be accompanying the singers himself.
The oratorio The Creation , a masterpiece by Austrian composer Franz Joseph Haydn (1732-1809) will be performed in Ho Chi Minh City this week.
The classical orchestral work, written between 1796 and 1798, tells the story of God’s creation of the world in six days as related in the Book of Genesis .
The performance, led by well-known Norwegian conductor Lars Notto Birkeland , will feature soprano Cho Hae Ryong , tenor Erlend Tvinnereim, baritone Halvor F. Melien, and artists from the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony and Orchestra (HBSO).
