(CPV) - Japan futsal team defeated Iran at the AFC Asian Futsal Championship final on May 10 and crowned as Asian champion after the deadly penalties shoots the deadly penalty shoots with 5-2.



The two teams drew 2-2 in the normal as well as extra time but the Japanese squad could win Iran by three goals at penalties for the first time.



Japan netted three of its penalties while Iran failed to even net one of its chances with an outstanding performance by goalie Sekiguchi.


After 32 matched, the total goals scored were 221 (6.91 per match). And, top scorer was belong to Hossein Tayyebi from Iran with 15 goals.


In another match, Uzbekistan won 2-1 to Kuwait, thus placing third position in the tournament./.








This year’s AFC Futsal Aian Championship lured the participation of 16 countries in the 13th edition of the tournament.

The AFC Futsal Asian Championship is the premier national futsal competition of the Asian Football Confederation nations. It was first held in 1999 and was played annually until 2008; since then it has been played biennially.
