Exhibition shows gratitude to General Giap

Nhan Dan Online – Sixty photos on General Vo Nguyen Giap and the historic events of the Dien Bien Phu campaign are on display at a photo exhibition that opened on May 4 in Vung Chua area, Quang Binh province.

The exhibition, held by the Vietnam Photographic Artists’ Association and the Vietnam News Agency, is the first of its kind to be held at the general’s final resting place.

The exhibits celebrate the 60th anniversary of the ground-shaking Dien Bien Phu victory while portraying legendary General Giap, an outstanding son of Quang Binh province.

On the opening day, the display attracted thousands of local residents and visitors, including many Dien Bien veterans who came to refresh their memory of the campaign and their commander-in-chief.

Visitors also offered incense to the beloved general at his grave.

The exhibition runs until May 14.
