On the occasion of the 124th birthday anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2014), the Ho Chi Minh Museum and Vietnam Cultural Centre in France (CCV) opened a photo exhibition themed “Ho Chi Minh with Vietnamese cultural heritage” on May 17 in Paris.



The event is organized on the occasion of European Museum Night 2014 and within the framework of activities for Vietnam Year in France.


The exhibition includes more than 100 photos, and various books and newspapers detailing President Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary life. It is an introduction for the overseas Vietnamese community in France and international friends to the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh. His interest in cultural heritage in general, Vietnam’s cultural heritage in particular, is an additional focal point of the presentation.


The exhibition also introduces the beauty of Vietnam, the people of Vietnam, Vietnam’s cultural and natural heritage as recognized by UNESCO, Vietnam’s guidelines and policies on the conservation and promotion of cultural heritage values.


“During his revolutionary life, President Ho Chi Minh was always interested in culture and cultural heritage. According to him, culture is a cord, which can connect people in countries and nations together. Cultural essences of a nation are the common property of mankind, and vice versa. The cultural pinnacles of human kind is not a private treasure. With his cause of cultural activities and revolutionary activities, President Ho Chi Minh was the first Vietnamese person to bridge friendship between the people of Vietnam and peoples in the world,” Ms. Nguyen Thuy Duc, Acting Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, said at the opening ceremony.


Ms. Nguyen Thuy Duc also said that through this exhibition, the Ho Chi Minh Museum also wants to introduce and attract overseas Vietnamese people in France and French people to come to Vietnam, to learn more about the culture of Vietnam and to further tighten the international solidarity between the two countries.


Mr. Dang Giang, Minister of the Vietnamese Embassy in France, stressed that the sense of cultural heritage President Ho Chi Minh brought to the people of Vietnam is very great. That is the spirit of patriotism and national liberation aspiration, contributing to the struggle of people for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress worldwide.


At the opening ceremony, an art program praising Uncle Ho and the homeland was also performed. It evoked sincere and profound feelings among attendees. The program portrayed President Ho Chi Minh as a hero of national liberation and a preeminent culturist of Vietnam and the world.


The exhibition will last until June 4./.
