Australian band The Love Junkies, will perform with two local bands, The Offensive and Cat (The Sand) from 8pm on May 30 at Holyland Rock Club (89 Bui Ngoc Duong street, Hanoi).

The band, which performed at Asia’s biggest music industry showcase in Singapore last weekend, is coming to Hanoi with the support of CAMA and the Australian Embassy.

The show will bring new music to Vietnamese audiences and provide opportunities for Vietnamese bands to perform alongside great international acts like The Love Junkies.

“The visit by The Love Junkies is a part of the Australian Embassy cultural program which aims to strengthen people-to-people links between Australia and Vietnam. We are excited to introduce new music to Vietnam and very pleased to be able to support other Australian charity organisations in Vietnam at the same time”, said Ms Angela Pickett, First Secretary of the Australian Embassy in Hanoi.

The Embassy is also assisting KOTO, an Australian charity organisation to run a BBQ at the concert with all profits going back to the school which provides hospitality training for underprivileged Vietnamese youth.

During their time in Vietnam, The Love Junkies will also visit Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation, an Australian charity that reaches out to kids in crisis throughout Vietnam. The band will be working with Blue Dragon kids to compose a song which is expected to be released for sale to generate an income for Blue Dragon.

The Love Junkies sound is an explosion of hooky melodies, loud thumping drums and grunge guitar. The band began its journey in late 2009 and since then has released an album and two Extended Plays (EPs), winning three Western Australian Music Awards in 2013./.
