(CPV) - The Vietnam men’s national football team climbed nine places to the 116th position in FIFA’s April world rankings scoring 242 points, and remain top at Southeast Asia region.
Next came to Thailand (140th), Malaysia (142nd) and the Philippines (143rd).
Meanwhile, Iran (world No.37), Japan (world No.47), Uzbekistan (world No.53) and the Republic of Korea (No.56) lead the continental table.
Spain still led the world, followed by Germany, Portugal, Colombia, Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil (both world No.6).
Argentina loses their third potion to Portugal after dropping three steps to the sixth.
Only six matches were played over the past month. The majority of changes to this ranking can be attributed to the devaluation of matches from previous years, most of which were FIFA World Cup qualifiers and now have a greatly reduced weighting.
No team has managed to break into the top 50. The six matches played brought the total number evaluated so far this year to 128.
The next FIFA/Coca-Cola world ranking will be published on May 8./.
