Nhan Dan Online – Two special concerts are scheduled to be held at the Hanoi Opera House on May 7 and 8 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954).

Under the baton of conductor Honna Tetsuji, the talented violist Bui Cong Duy and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) will provide classical music lovers an opportunity to enjoy a special musical party.

The VNSO will delight audiences with ‘Diem hen’ (Rendezvous), a piece composed by French-Vietnamese musician Nguyen Thien Dao to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory.

The four-movement piece, which lasts for around 25 minutes, captures the flow of the country’s history, including the birth of the country, the wars against invaders and the great victories.

Artist Bui Cong Duy will perform the work ‘Poeme, Op.25′ written by French romantic composer Ernest Chausson in 1896.

The last classical work performed at the concerts will be Beethoven’s Symphony no.3 entitled ‘Eroica’ (Heroic).
