In the series of activities in Vietnam Seafood Festival-Phu Yen 2014, the Organizing Board has “Cau ngu” Festival performed to honor the traditional-cultural beauty of coastal residents in the 4 coastal localities of the province.
Joining in the performance are the 4 teams showing “Ba trao” in the 4 provinces of Binh Dinh, Quang Ngai, Ninh Thuan, Khanh Hoa respectively at the “Cau ngu” Festival of Phuoc Ly neighborhood (Xuan Yen ward, Song Cau town); My Quang Bac village (An Chan commune, Tuy An district); the crossroads of Bach Dang – Le Duan streets (ward 6, Tuy Hoa city and Phu Tho 3 neighborhood (Hoa Hiep Trung townlet, Dong Hoa district).
During 60 minutes, each team expresses the incense-offering ritual and “Ba trao” to pray for good weather, the sea-voyage offshore with bumper and safety. According to this type of folk art form through singing, dancing, “Ba trao” performance re-appears the fishermen’s working and living life, such as boating, dragging nets, praising the wealth of the sea, the unity of fishermen at work…
Along with “Cau ngu” Festival of the nearby provinces, including the similarities, differences in performing rituals in each locality, “Cau ngu” performing-program at Vietnam Seafood Festival-Phu Yen 2014 has created so fresh features and attracted a large number of people in Phu Yen coastal areas and visitors.
In the evening of March 31st, the program of “Cau ngu” Festival in the districts of Tuy An, Dong Hoa, Song Cau town and Tuy Hoa city is performed by “Ba trao” teams in various localities.
