Vietnam, RoK promote cyber security cooperation

(VOV) – Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan has received Chul Hi Yu, Deputy Director of Information Planning Division under the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of National Defense on a working visit to Vietnam.


At a March 17 reception for Chul Hi Yu briefed his host on the results of the working session with the Vietnam Ministry of Defence’s Information Technology Department, saying that cyber security has greatly affected both nation’s military secrets and economic development.


The Korean guest said his nation is experienced in coping with these threats. In recent years, the RoK has cooperated with Pacific nations in the field of cyber security.


The RoK pledges its best efforts to help Vietnam become a model nation in protecting national defense cyber security, he added.


Lieutenant General Tuan said that there should be a detailed plan for bilateral cooperation focusing on human resources development to meet requirements for cyber security.
