It’s in week’s time that the “Week of displaying books on aqua products and Vietnam sea-island” on the occasion of Vietnam-Phu Yen 2014 seafood festival, is held. The very last preparatory tasks are being urgently conducted by the provincial library staff, with the hope that the event will bring about meaningful and knowledge party, also, colorful in sea and islands.

Mrs. Pham Thi Kim Anh, director of the provincial library, shared, “determining this one of the main events in the Festival, we the staff of the library have been constantly concentrating on preparing books, for the last three months. Books from many places are brought here, with the models of arranging and displaying books are being gradually completed, banners, images and slogans are all completely designed, the detailed scenario has been approved…So far, everything has been ready for the “Book displaying week on aqua-products and Vietnam sea and islands” to take place.


As shared by Mrs. Kim Anh, there are currently about 1,000 documents, books on display during the week. Among these, there are 10 bookcases with about 150 books on the Party, history through various periods, with the province’s economic-social achievements on the 39th anniversary of Phu Yen Liberation Day (April 30th, 1975-April 30th, 2014), and books about the tradition of remembering sources when drinking water of our nation, on the Death Anniversary of King Hung (March 10th lunar calendar). Particularly, there are over 800 books, documents about seafood, Vietnam Sea culture, sea-island sovereignty, Sea Law, books on Truong Sa, Hoang Sa; books on tourism and Phu Yen tuna…Together with the current books in stock, the Provincial Library also mobilizes books and documents of the provincial department of agriculture and rural development, the provincial department of traffic and transportation, the provincial frontier guard station…Together with books displayed on 10 bookcases, there are also a large number of books and documents displayed on large tables, in 5 topics: Vietnam sea and island, Phu Yen tourism, Vietnam Aqua products Vietnam sea culture, Phu Yen tuna, all for the sake of easy access to information for readers.


The stressing point at the display is the model of artistic book arranging, the two most outstanding are the models named offshore book boats and Truong Sa Lon island light house. The former includes more than 200 books, arranged from the gate, considered the invitation to readers to have a cruise on the land where everything bears the strong features of sea and islands. We hope to “bring” the lighthouse from Truong Sa to the mainland, to enhance the awareness of the sea and island sovereignty. Mrs. Vo Thi Thu Hue, vice director of the provincial library, shared, “With the book displaying week on Vietnam sea and aqua-products”, we hope to introduce to the readers books and document on Vietnam’s profession of planting and breeding aqua products, the cultural features of the country’s sea; simultaneously advertising and promoting the cultural message onVietnam’s sea and island sovereignty, provoking the patriotism and increasing everybody’s awareness of the significance of Vietnam sea and islands”.
