VietNamNet Bridge – One pilot and four attendants of Vietnam Airlines will have to go to Japan to serve in the investigation of stolen goods transportation.
Vietnam Airlines stewardess arrested in Japan
“The suspension is to serve in the investigation to clarify their connection to the behavior of transporting stolen goods from Japan to Vietnam,” the source said.
This is the second time since 2009 crew members of Vietnam Airlines were accused of transporting stolen goods by Japanese authorities.
The five crew members were asked to go to Japan to participate in the investigation of Japanese authorities. The identity of these people has not been disclosed.
The airlines said that its branch office in Japan had provided all the information and documents requested for the Japanese police but Vietnam Airlines had not received a response and complete information from Japan about the investigation process.
On March 26 the Japanese media reported that a Vietnam Airlines stewardess was arrested by Japanese police and charged with transporting stolen goods. The incident occurred in September last year and the hostess was accused of shipping 21 items of clothing, valued at JPY125,000 (approximately $2,300).
This is the second time in the last 5 years a crew member of the Vietnam Airlines was arrested in Japan with the same allegations. The airlines said it would cooperate with the investigating agency and not cover up any individual in order to prevent similar incidents occurring in the future.
