Setting foot on Da Chong Tourist Pier in Vinh Luong Commune, Nha Trang, many tourists have been impressed by a carriage made from used plastic bottles. They posed with it excitedly.

According to Le Dung Lam, director of Long Phu Tourist Company, the company encourages all the staff towards re-using wastes by creating some products.

Monkey Island, under the management of the company, is a place where many kinds of used things such as plastic bottles, glass bottles, cans, boxes, nylon bags and shells are re-used to create good-looking works. For example, a 60m2 house was made from 12,000 glass bottles with the roof from milk boxes and the walls covered by shells. The expense to build up this house is only VND80 million instead of VND200 million with normal materials. In the house, tables and chairs also are made from used car wheels.

Beside the house is a winter garden with 20 5-meter-long pines made from dried coconut leaves. Also from coconut leaves and flowers, some things such as sunflower garden, happy hearts and communal house model have been created. Some models of rice field, plough and buffalo also have been formed by plastic and glass bottles. Additionally, a lively tulip parterre with an area of 20 sq.m. has surprised a lot of visitors.

“You’re so skillful to make so many nice works from wasted stuffs. Through the works, we understand your appeal for environmental protection”, said Taran Tatiana, a Russian tourist.
