On March 14th afternoon, Mr Nguyen The Thao – Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee and Mr Suzuki Hideo – charge d’affaires of Japan in Vietnam has completed the signing of the non-refundable aid project of Japan government to Hanoi.
The project provided Hanoi police with new generation vehicles as police cars to perform official duties and expectedly to contribute to safety management, air pollution prevention and environment protection in Hanoi.
Mr Suzuki Hideo, Japan charge d’affaires in Vietnam emphasized that, Japan hoped to introduce the high quality of vehicles manufactured in Japan in Vietnam and at the same time promote the use of new generation cars that caused less environmental impact and also reduced emissions – one of the many reasons causing greenhouse effect in Vietnam.
Mr Hideo hoped that the car will be used to support activities of police in Hanoi and contribute to deepening the relationship between Hanoi and Japan.
Mr Nguyen The Thao, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee, has noted and appreciated the support and assistance from Japan to Hanoi in a long period past.
Both sides had had many projects and programs successfully built and conducted. Hanoi has received 23 ODA projects with a total value of 2.9 billion USD, accounting for 48% of the city’s total ODA projects, whereas there have been 520 direct investment projects from Japan with a total capital of 4.6 billion USD, 22% of the total FDI projects of Hanoi.
Mr Thao also committed that Hanoi will put the ODA projects in general and Japan ODA projects in particular to good use with best efficiency.
