As many as 150 local and foreign businesses are showcasing their products at the annual Vietnam International Furniture and Fine Arts Exports Fair, which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on March 11.
The four-day expo offers a chance for participants to share experience, seek partners, and present their products in the Vietnamese market, said Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai.
It includes two seminars, one on the latest safety regulations and standards for wood products to the US and the other on the domestic furniture design industry.
According to the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association (HAWA), Vietnam earned 5.56 billion USD from timber exports in 2013, up 19.2 against the period year.
The export revenue is expected to increase by 20 percent to 6.5 billion USD for this year.-VNA
