Gambling ring faces trial in Bac Ninh

BAC NINH (VNS)— The People’s Court in the northern province of Bac Ninh yesterday heard a trial for 86 individuals facing illegal gambling charges.

According to the five-day long trial, Duong Anh Duc, 50, from the northern province of Bac Giang, and Khuat Thi Huong, 48, from Bac Ninh, were caught red-handed together at a massage parlour with another 102 individuals, engaged in illegal gambling.

Among the findings seized by police, included more than VND5.8 billion ($281,000) in cash, 69 cell phones, and two tablets.

According to evidence heard in the trial, Duc and Huong had collaborated in organising the gambling ring since October, 2012. — VNS
