Germany’s B. Braun Medical Inc. in Vietnam plans to establish a kidney dialysis centre in Hanoi, where there is only one hospital treating renal failure.
The group’s representatives had a working session on March 18 with Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc to discuss the project.
Ngoc said the city is prioritising foreign direct investment projects in the health sector, whilst it is short of facilities and manpower in the field.
She agreed with B. Braun’s project and will instruct related agencies to outline specific plans to realise it as soon as possible.
B. Braun has a large number of kidney dialysis centres over the world, including 50 ones in Asia.
It plans to invest 100 million USD in producing medical equipment at Thanh Oai industrial park in the city in the coming time, with a hope of generating job for over 2,500 labourers.
B. Braun supplies the global healthcare market with products for anesthesia, intensive medicine, cardiology, extra corporeal blood treatment and surgery, as well as services for hospitals, general practitioners and the homecare sector. It has about 50,000 employees in 60 countries.-VNA
