(VOV) -Vietnamese “little mermaid” Nguyen Thi Anh Vien on March 29 won one gold and one silver medal at the NASA Junior National Championships Cup in Florida, the US.

Anh Vien’s triumph at the women’s 500-yard event (clocked at 4:42:66) marked her third gold at the ongoing champs. She was followed by Lisa Bratton and Megan Brown – the two outstanding swimmers from Grenwood Club in New England State.
In the 200-yard freestyle event for female swimmers, the Vietnamese competitor finished second at 1:55:10, better than her result in the qualifying round (1:57:65). The gold medal went to Alexandra Aitchison of Clearwater Aquatic Club in Florida State who clocked 1:46:52.
After three days of fierce competition, Anh Vien bagged three golds (200-yard mixed, 500-yard freestyle, and 400-yard mixed) and two silvers (200-yard backstroke and 200-yard freestyle).
