HA NOI (VNS) — Kindergartens will be banned from teaching foreign languages following a Ministry of Education and Training document sent to all the provinces recently.
The ministry said that the teaching of foreign languages would have adverse effects on the children’s future education because of the current sub-standard teaching conditions in terms of teachers, facilities, and equipment.
The advertising of foreign language learning courses and software, which are not tested and approved by the ministry, is also prohibited.
The provincial departments of education and training have been requested to conduct regular inspections of the curriculum in kindergartens. Those who violate the law will be strictly dealt with, the ministry added.—VNS
