Drug traffickers caught in Hai Phong

HA NOI (VNS) — The police from the waterway and drug departments, in co-ordination with the local police in the northern port city of Hai Phong, arrested two persons last night for drug trafficking.

One kilogramme of methamphetamine was seized from them.

Nguyen Van Son, 52, and Le Thanh Thuy, 30, were caught red-handed at the foot of the Lac Long Bridge in Hai Phong City’s Hong Bang District, when they were transporting the drugs from China via the Quang Ninh seaway.

The suspects admitted that they had planned to sell the drugs in Ha Noi. The police are investigating the case further. — VNS
