HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam have pocketed five gold medals after the second day of competition at the ongoing Southeast Asian Fencing Federation Championships in Malaysia.


Olympian Nguyen Tien Nhat won in the men’s individual epee event and Tran Thi Len won in the women’s individual epee pool yesterday.


Earlier on Saturday, they topped in the women’s individual foil, women’s individual sabre and men’s individual sabre categories.


Viet Nam have also bagged two silvers and one bronze.


The tournament, where the team events begin today, will end on January 27.


After that the junior Vietnamese fencers will take part in the under-20 and under-27 tournaments, also in Kuala Lumpur.— VNS
